The Miniature Blacksmith's Workshop

19th century, 1:12 scale

Anija Manor - “The Story of Manor Era” Permanent Exhibition 2020

This handcrafted diorama represents a 19th-century blacksmith’s workshop inspired by those traditionally found within Estonian manor complexes. The aim was to create an authentic environment that immerses viewers in the atmosphere of a working forge.

Every detail, from the tools to the texture of the walls, has been carefully made by hand. Special attention has been given to portraying a workspace in progress: the room is slightly disordered, the glowing embers in the forge, and everything is ready for the blacksmith to step in and begin their craft. This model serves as a vivid reminder of the creativity and industrious spirit of workshops from the past.
