The Miniature Chamber of the Farm of the Poluverniks
19th century, 1:10
Alutaguse National Park Visitor Centre - "Treasures of Alutaguse National Park" Permanent Exhibition 2021
This handcrafted miniature model showcases a rural interior from the late 19th century, inspired by the life and customs of the poluverniks living in rural Estonia during that period.
Poluverniks often descended from Russian settlers, lived in rural communities, and maintained a distinct lifestyle marked by self-sufficiency and traditional crafts. They were known for their modest yet functional living spaces, characterized by simple furnishings, earthy tones, and practical design that reflected their close connection to the land and nature.
